Summer Jam has become a centerpiece of our professional development at Butler Community College. We expected it to be a powerful week of pedagogy. We built Summer Jam to help faculty experience teaching strategies, hands-on. What we did not anticipate was the fellowship and fun that blossomed from sharing the five days together.
Who knew intense professional development could be…fun!
What makes Summer Jam work is very simple: peer-to-peer instruction. Every hour of our event is led by our full-time and adjunct faculty. We know what we need, and we seek out peers who have relative expertise in those needs.
